Since October 1st 2022, the use of invoices with payments slip in accordance with the Swiss QR Code standards is mandatory.
What are the benefits?
- Billing can be done in CHF and EUR.
- A QR code for all payment methods and references.
- The digitization of data allows for more efficient payment processing.
- More and better information in a standardized form allows for better data quality.
- Payment references are automated from the originator to the recipient, which reduces the risk of error.
The following are important to consider:
- The company name on the QR-invoice must always match the bank account holder, also when using the QR-IBAN. If it does not match, the payment may be rejected.
- It is advisable to fill in all payment data to ensure automated processing of collections. Only the following fields are available for manual addition by the payer under Payable by: name, address of the recipient and invoice amount.
- The handwritten addition of a communication by the payer is no longer possible.
